NEW YORK, NY – Auto-Star Compusystems, Inc., a leading provider of point of sale and head office solutions for retailers, has announced new certifications with Lenovo™ products including the ThinkCentre™ Nano edge PCs, the Tiny-in-One series, and ThinkSystem™ edge servers. “Working with both the Lenovo Retail and Data Center Groups has allowed us to build many innovative new solutions for retailers,” said Ivan Long, Vice President of Auto-Star. In concert with Auto-Star, Lenovo, and Microsoft, “we were the first retail solution to utilize Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Big Data Clusters, which we premiered recently at Microsoft Ignite 2019.”
In addition to utilizing the new features in SQL Server 2019, Auto-Star and Lenovo now provide key solutions to retailers in other fundamental areas. These include running the Star-Plus point of sale software in-store on Lenovo’s edge devices. In combination, the Auto-Star and Lenovo solution provides intuitive and customizable point of sale and retail capabilities, along with a powerful hardware platform that can be wall mounted, stacked on a shelf, or installed in a rack.
The ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One and ThinkCentre Nano provide a powerful fusion for retail that is flexible but inexpensive, and takes up very little space in key areas of a storefront. The Lenovo/Auto-Star combined solution has already been deployed in hundreds of existing merchant locations including pharmacies, health and natural product retailers, and specialty stores. Working with some of the advanced capabilities in both companies’ product lines will allow for many more success stories in the months to come.
“Lenovo is excited to offer comprehensive hardware, software, and services solutions designed to enhance the continual transformation within retail. By working with strong innovative partners, such as Auto-Star, Lenovo is uniquely positioned to provide end to end solutions including mobile, POS, Edge Computing, and IoT all with enterprise manageability, quality, and support. We look forward to providing continued leadership as we proceed on this journey together in the retail industry,” said Jon Pershke, Vice President – Business Group Strategy.
At the National Retail Federation (NRF) Big Show there will be new certifications announced, including Auto-Star retail software running on the Lenovo ThinkCentre Nano in a virtualized edge computing environment for fully integrated, highly available retail. There will also be displays showing updated integration between Lenovo mobile devices and Auto-Star’s mobile point of sale and delivery solutions.
Come and see Auto-Star and Lenovo in action at booth #1065 during the NRF Big Show, January 11 – 14, 2020, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, NY.
